September 27, 2007 United State Public Policy Lecture - Josef Joffe, publisher-editor of the German weekly Die Zeit, provides an international view on U.S. public policy. A visiting professor of political science at Stanford since 2004, Joffe was Payne Distinguished Lecturer there in 1999/2000. He is also Distinguished Fellow of the Institute for International Studies and Abramowitz Fellow of the Hoover Institution, both at Stanford. His most recent book is Überpower: America’s Imperial Temptation (2006).

April 2006 Treasury Secretary visits Campus - Secretary of the Treasury John Snow toured Oxford and discussed many issues with Ole Miss students, ranging from the flexibility of Chinese currency to his views on the Hamilton Project.

"He wanted to be here and be talking to the students," Carden said.

Snow explored the campus with Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., taught a Macroeconomics class and addressed the student body.
