Summer 2008
Rising Collegiate Leaders Summer Leadership Program

May 2008 might hold one of the most incredible and memorable opportunities of your life.

Through a partnership between The Lott Leadership Institute and the Office of Outreach at the University of Mississippi and a leading university in Mexico, the Instituto de Tecnologia y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), This summer twenty students will be selected to participate in a program from May 12-25 that will allow them to learn firsthand about U.S.-Mexico relations and to focus on becoming effective leaders in Mississippi’s increasingly diverse communities.

Students will spend the first week of the program on the Oxford campus of The University of Mississippi and the second week in Mexico at the Pachuca campus of ITESM while participating in a three-hour seminar in Public Policy Leadership.

The Oxford portion of the program will involve lectures and activities on campus. While in Mexico participants will visit Chapultepec Park and the Zocalo in Mexico City as well as spend time on the ITESM campus. The Mexico portion of the program will also offer students the opportunity to meet with local business owners and experts in U.S.-Mexican relations, engage in team-building activities at a resort in the hills outside Pachuca, and have the opportunity to meet and socialize with ITESM students.
