Community Service Learning

The Lott Leadership Institute seeks to embody the service mission of the University of Mississippi by supporting a variety of leadership and outreach programs that serve the public good.

Resurrection House Aids Haven Project

The House of Resurrection Haven (HRH) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is a non-profit organization that offers a home-like environment to children who are HIV/AIDS symptomatic and have been orphaned or abandoned by their families. This year, the ages range from 10 months to 14 years of age.

The HRH provides for the children's basic needs and addresses their health and developmental issues. The staff works hard to create and nurture in each child a sense of belonging, pride, and stability within the family of individuals who make up the HRH. Currently, the House of Resurrection Haven is caring for 34 children, 23 boys and 11 girls, ranging in age from 10 months to 14 years of age.
